Alistair Arundall visited Cape town South Africa in January this year and managed to take the opportunity to go for a flight from Table View courtesy of Birdmen Paragliding of cape town. Great flying conditions in the morning and evening but quite rough during the day. Ground handling is taught at Dolphin beach.

Flight over Frosty Pendle Hill - Pics by Mark Ingham

Mark says "As you can see the ground is covered with frost and it was -6°C at base but a lot colder at height. Flew over Pendle Hill just before sunrise and the views were spectacular, the hill affords some great thermals for the "unpowered" lot... But all in all a must for the ppg Pilot. People tend to put there gear away at winter but the clearness of the sky should tell them to drag it out "rapidly" and use it all year."
